TRYOUT INFORMATION

2025/26 Competitive Season

The Celtic SC competitive program provides a player-centered pathway to develop and inspire intelligent, respectful, and competitive young players. We provide a unique soccer learning environment tailored around how young players learn, so we can produce better players and even better people for our community. Our player-centered approach molds the Celtic player with the skills needed to succeed in competition and the soccer intelligence to make the best decisions possible. Our staff is invested in every player in the club and held to the highest of expectations to provide the best learning environment possible.

If for any reason you can’t make one of our tryout dates, please let us know you’re interested and we will arrange for you to come for a player evaluation at another time.

TRYOUT FAQs

  • Where are tryouts?

All tryouts are at Celtic Park (1351 N Rohlwing Rd, Palatine).

  • What if my player missed the tryout dates?

Tryouts for the competitive program are held in Spring. For the teams that have space, we will host supplemental tryouts throughout the year, during regular team practices. Players must PRE-REGISTER for tryouts to be evaluated and EMAIL interest to be evaluated.

  • My child currently plays on a team that is not their birth year, should they attend both birth year tryouts?

Players must attend their birth year tryouts. Coaching staff will notify players if they should attend a different birth year.

  • How will I be notified of the evaluation outcomes?

Most players will receive notification via Playmetrics with the outcomes within 48 hours after their last tryout date. Parents and players will have 24 hours to ACCEPT or DECLINE their placement with Celtic SC. If no decision is made in 24 hours, your spot on the team may be offered to someone else. Rosters will be sent out once they are finalized.

  • What if a player is not ready to accept the invitation within the 24 hour period?

If no decision is made in 24 hours, your spot on the team may be offered to someone else. The invitation may be extended if the coaching staff  determines that a roster spot is available but there is no guarantee.

  • What is our next step if my player is not invited onto a Competitive team?

Players not placed on a Competitive team are invited to play in our in-house Recreation Program which provides soccer for players in Kindergarten- 8th grade (boys) and Kindergarten-High School (girls). The House Recreational Program is a great program available to all players to learn fundamentals and further their skills development  while developing self-esteem and teamwork.

  • Who will be our coach?

Coaching staff will be announced once all teams have been finalized.
